A 2010 that seemed like a ROM Heaven and thanks to all, we move on to ROM -2011

From Mike & myself,

We wish each and every one of you the most wonderful Happy & Healthy of whichever Holiday you each celebrate & a Happy New Year!!!! It has been a Fabulous ROM -2010 from begnning to our grand Finale 2010 ending  on 12-13-10 with an incredible show by our features Trisha & Phil Knudsen. The hosue was packed if you were unable to join us and we did go to a one song night so that everyone that was there and wished to play, did indeed have that opportunity!!! Thanks to Trisha & Phil for wonderful way to end our Season!!!

There is so much positive stuff music-wise going on in our area I do not even know where to start but I will try with a couple important notes of dear friends of ROM that have upcoming gigs!!!

The first I want to mention is that our dear friend Chris Wilhelm is coming back to the Boston area for a New Years Eve gig at Needham's First Night Festivities. Chris has asked Junko Ogawa to join him on a song for this venue which should be a fun show all around. Since I have lost the first Blog that was nearly done, I will not say anything more than please just go to Chris's website, www.chriswilhelm.net for all the exact times for the show.

The next show I do want to mention I will add exactly what Randall Kromm had asked me to include so I do not lose this too. Randall has asked all his friends at ROM to consider a very special show for him. This will be Randall Kromm opening for yet another friend of ROM the multi-talented Don White at Club Passim on 1-8-11 in Harvard Square. For all details and seating selection for this special show please go to: www.clubpassim.org

I will cut this short at this point so I may get this out to you before 2011!!!

Happy Holidays to each and every one of you and we will look forward to seeing you all next year!!! Most sepcifically on 1-10-11 which will be our Anniversary Show for 2011 going into year number three. Our entire Feature list for 2011 is now posted on our website: www.rolindaleopenmike.org.

A word from Neal about myself and 3 very special friends!!!

Hi Folks,

I am continuing to figure out how best to put this Blog together and make sense! With those of you that know me totally understand I have no clue when it comes to Computer work in general. I did learn today from my dear friend Sam Schneiderman, that underlining on email & blog ect were thought to be links to other things. I do have a history of underlining things to help emphasize things!! I must say I hope this issue did NOT waste too much you your reading time on anything I jot!!! Sam is also the ONLY sponsor of ROM currently! Sam is my childhood friend that has paid for our website and my email address at ROM since our beginning and has just committed to do the same for ROM - 2011!! Thanks so much Sam from both Mike & Neal . Sam is also a great person to contact should you need any and all advise regarding Real Estate as he is the Owner of the Greater Boston Home Team! See me for further info anytime or contact Sam directly at: 617-469-4200.

I also wish to thank King Yee who just a couple hours ago handed back my very old Yamaha FG-300 guitar which he simply took in pieces and I now have my wonderful guitar named "Happy"back and sounding incredible! Thanks so much King!!

I also wish to thank Branson Bofat who has done so much work to help me re-construct the Pickguard for this very same guitar!!Thanks so much Branson!! When all is done, I will have a very dear and special guitar to me both sounding and looking great! I say a personal thanks to two dear friends/supporters not only of ROM but also and most specially, great friends to me!!

My thanks to all of you that do so very much to make ROM the Community that continues to grow each and every Venue!! I hope to see you on our last Venue for the year on 12-13-10 with Trisha & Phil Knudsen as our year end Features!  Always, Neal :)))

Thanks to Mary Pratt & Terence Hegarty and an incredible Holiday CD

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2010
Just me again with a quick note. All this year and undertaking has been going on by Jon Waterman, Steve Rapson and Dawn Frost. They have put together a Holiday CD made up , primarily of songs written by many of our dear friends right here at ROM as well as our wonderrful Open Mike Community Family. The name of the CD is "Our Finest Gifts". ALL the procceds from this CD will benefit the SMALL CAN BE BIG ORGANIZATION! TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM THE INSERT OF THE CD IS A NOTE TO US!  "The goal of this project is to highlight the vibrant performing & songwriting community of the Greater Boston area". The philosophy was make this project, all inclusive. "It is the belief of the producers that the best arbitters of musical taste are the listening public & NOT radio Programmers, venue operators, lable executives or pitchmen/promoters working on behalf of a certain privileged artists" I have listen to this CD it is definitely a keeper!. The cause is wonderful and both it's producers and all the performers are wonderfrul. I thank you Jon, Steve and Dawn for taking on and coming through with this devine piece of art!! Sincerely Neal :))
