Happy New England Fall Everyone!!

Dear Friends,

I know my Blogs are at best infequent but I do my best to keep up!  Before I say anything, I do truly want to thank, Carolyn Waters, David Hoffman, Diane Brown, Harvey Rudman and Randall Kromm for such incredible Features at ROM most recently. All the shows were, (thanks to each & everyone of you), well attended and the Community of Artist's were in the house!!!.

Mike & I are looking forward to our upcoming ROM this Monday
9-26-11 when our Feature will be the most talented Dan & Faith Senie. If you have NOT seen these 2 in concert, this is one show you do NOT want to miss! Hope to see you soon!!

I do have some requested annoucements for dear friends and wonderful causes!! Before I do go there I do ask that you please take a look at your websites to the right side of the screen and if I am missing any, or they are no longer accurate please do feel free to jot to me as I do want as much cutting edge info on all our dear friends of ROM. I do have a some Volunteer needs. Our thanks to Darwin MacDonald who was our stage lighting Volunteer. Darwin's job does now require him to be working durng our times of ROM. Thanks for all you did for us Darwin but now we are seeking someone to Volunteer to manage our Lighting board with both set up and take down. If you may be tech savvy which you all know, I am NOT!! Please do let me know. Even if we set up a rotating schedule, any help will be great help!!!

We, at the Museum of Fine Artist's at Roslsindale Open Mike have really out-grown our wall space and tables! If anyone may know where I may be able to get a table top, light -weight swivel Poster holder donated/used ect that would save me so much set up and break down time as well as funds.

We do have several upcoming wonderful shows of dear friends of ROM. I will do my best to copy & paste as I am bad at paraphrasing. I will add these, I hope by the earliest date and onward.

The first of these is our Dear friend and very talented Tom Smith will be getting ready to release his first studio CD!!! I will start Toms note here:

It is with great pleasure that I announce that my new CD Journey Home is finished and sent to manufacturing. I am extremely proud of the songwriting and musicianship on this album. It was a labor of love. It sounds great, in part because of the superior talents of the folks who have collaborated with me. Most importantly Seth Connelly, who produced, recorded, edited and mixed it with great care. Equally important, Seth has been my creative partner. I left each studio session telling myself that I am so fortunate to work with such a talented man.
Joining me on this album are some stellar musicians, including Mally Smith and Alle Santiago (vocals), Oen Kennedy (vocals and whistling), Joyce Andersen (fiddle and viola), Sean Staples (mandolin), Eric Royer (banjo), Billy Novick (clarinet) and Seth Connelly (vocals, guitar, upright bass, mandolin, banjo and bouzouki).
To help me share this album with the world, Birch Beer Records will be doing the distribution. You can purchase my CD from Birch Beer records starting Nov. 8, 2011. It is an honor to be included as a Birch Beer Records artist. Although a young company, BBR has a strong track record and growing presence in supporting the best of local music in my home state of Massachusetts. My new album “Journey Home” is a perfect fit. Although each BBR title is unique, all have a common respect for what I call music that is on a human scale. No big dollar productions here – just great songwriting delivered by top notch musicians in warm acoustic settings. It is wonderful to be in such company.
Now I am asking for your help to take this project across the finish line. The post-production tasks of graphic design, disc mastering and manufacturing will cost over $2500. I have created a Kickstarter campaign to help me reach that goal. Via the Kickstarter project page you can pre-order the CD (to be received BEFORE the CD release celebration). There are also other rewards if you pledge even more to the campaign. The following video was created to tell you a little bit about the campaign, and how you can help.
